How you can get involved
There
are many ways you can help in the campaign to prevent this proposed destruction
of the canyon. ROAR is made up entirely of volunteers, so every level
of help does go toward making an impact.
The greatest need right now is funding our lawsuit against Colorado State Parks for their inappropriate approval of OTR. Please click the PayPal icon at left, or contact us for specific information. Thank You in advance for your support.
Examples of how you can contribute include:
- Join ROAR as an official member!
- Write to the permitting agencies, politicians
and/or newspapers.
- Make a donation for help with postage and publication costs.
Read how one Salida man got involved and encourages others to do the
same. Click here.
For more information on these and other needs, please
contact us.
How to Join ROAR
This is a grass-roots organization. Everything is done by
volunteers who are passionate about preserving the quality of life and
environment in the Arkansas River's Bighorn Sheep canyon. All membership
fees and other donations are applied directly and exclusively to the direct
costs of accomplishing this mission. There are no administrative costs.
We have found great strength and influence in this coordinated coalition.
We invite you to join our effort.

List of Agencies involved in the
permitting process:
Even though the “official deadline” for comments to the
BLM has closed, Roy Masinton, director of the Canon City office, stated
that he would continue to allow input. None of the other agencies have
set deadlines, so our petitions and other letters are of great value.

page.
