How you can get involved

There are many ways you can help in the campaign to prevent this proposed destruction of the canyon. ROAR is made up entirely of volunteers, so every level of help does go toward making an impact.

Examples of how you can contribute include:

• Join ROAR as an official member!
• Help distribute petitions.
• Attend the BLM Front Range bimonthly meetings in Canon City.
• Help with public relations.
• Write to the permitting agencies, politicians and/or newspapers.
• Make a donation for help with postage and publication costs.

How to Join ROAR

This is a grass-roots organization. Everything is done by volunteers who are passionate about preserving the quality of life and environment in the Arkansas River's Bighorn Sheep canyon. All membership fees and other donations are applied directly and exclusively to the direct costs of accomplishing this mission. There are no administrative costs. We have found great strength and influence in this coordinated coalition. We invite you to join our effort.

Petitions

For a petition, you can either:

• Email us your name and mailing address, and we'll send you one.
• Print copies of our online version. Select your preferred format:
  • MS Word document. (You must have Microsoft Word or Office installed on your computer.)
  • Adobe PDF document. (You need the Adobe Acrobat reader installed. Click here to Get it Free.)

Make as many copies as you like and distribute.
Send completed petitions to: R.O.A.R., 662 Wapiti Trail, Canon City, CO 81212.
We will get them to the government agencies involved in the permit process.

Even though the “official deadline” for comments to the BLM has closed, Roy Masinton, director of the Canon City office, stated that he would continue to allow input.
